Example: Restoring a Pan From Stuck Food
"Food sticks to my frying pan so much I can't use it..." When we received that question from a customer, we borrowed their pan for ourselves. After taking a look, it was clear that this sticking came about from misuse. With our customer's permission, we will be using this pan to demonstrate how to care for your pan and stop food from sticking. For further reference, we will show how to fry eggs on the pan once it has been cleaned. Please be sure to read your frying pan’s instruction manual carefully in order to ensure that this kind of sticking does not happen to yours. If sticking does occur, refer to the steps shown here to clean and fix your frying pan.
Example: Restoring a Pan From Stuck Food
This is a stir-fry pan that has a lot of meat stuck to it.
First, pour in hot water from a water heater.
Let it soak for a while.
Use a wooden spatula to remove the stuck food.
This is enough to remove most of the stuck food.
This is the material that was sticking to the pan.
Next, scrub the fine residue.
This is the metal scrub brush and scrubbing powder used to scrub the residue.
Scrub the inner surface.
The residue is now completely gone.
Thoroughly wipe down the inner surface.
Thoroughly wipe down the outer surface as well.
Heat the pan on a gas stove to dry it.
Once it's dry, turn the heat off.
Add plenty of oil to the pan to let the pan acclimate to the oil.
Warm the pan on low heat for 15 to 20 minutes. (watch out for smoke from the oil)
Tilt the pan to spread the oil all over the inner surface.
When done, return the oil to an oil pot.
Now your pan is acclimated to the oil.
Use tissue paper, etc. to wipe the oil off the pan.
Use the same paper to wipe the pan's outer surface.
This is what the pan's outer surface should look like.
